Dear Fellow Masters, Instructors, and Practitioners of Taekwondo:

I would like to extend my warmest greetings to all of you who have supported our Taekwondo activities in the past and especially to those who are first-time participants. It is with honor and great pleasure that I extend to you my personal invitation to participate in the
22nd Annual Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship, held at Cal Poly Pomona on March 24, 2018.

What is unique about this tournament is that not only does it have individual Poomsae and Sparring events, but also features a
Team Demo Competition and an Essay Contest for athletes to earn a scholarship towards their education. Our goal for this tournament is to give our youths an opportunity to achieve their goals and develop a winning attitude in life.

2018 marks our 22nd year hosting this tournament. Utilizing the latest state-of-the-art technology, this year’s Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship promises to be the most exciting one to date. All rings will be equipped with an
Electronic Scoring System with widescreen LCD displays. Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the most accurate and most fair tournament ever!

The Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship will also be hosting qualifiers for California Competitors. For those Black Belt Competitors, ages 12 to 32, who take either 1st or 2nd place in their weight class will receive a chance to compete in the 2018 ATU National Tournament. Other competitors who compete will need to receive either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in order to compete in the 2018 ATU National Tournament.

We ensure that a safe, efficient, and organized festival-like tournament is provided for Taekwondo enthusiasts of all ages and rank levels. Professionally managed and organized, our registration process will be easy and convenient as well. I look forward to welcoming you to the Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship this year.
