
Dear fellow Masters, Instructors, and Practitioners of Taekwondo
I would like to extend my warmest greeting to all of you who have supported our Taekwondo activities in the past and especially to those who are first time participants. It is with honor and great pleasure that I extend to you my personal invitation to participate in the 16th Annual Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship, held at Cal Poly Pomona on March 31, 2012.
What is unique about this tournament is that not only does it have individual Poomse and Sparring Competition, but also it features a Team Demo Competition as a special event. Our goal for this tournament is to give our youths an opportunity to achieve their goals and develop a winning attitude in life.
2012 marks our 16th year hosting this tournament. Utilizing the latest state of the art technology, this year's Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship promises to be the most exciting one to date. All rings will be equipped with Both Ringmaster and True Score, Electronic Scoring Systems with widescreen LCD displays. Black Belt Sparring Divisions will feature Electronic Chest Protectors! Don't miss your opportunity to be part of the most accurate and most fair tournament ever!
The Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship will also be hosting qualifiers for California Competitors. For those Black Belt Competitors who are 12-32 years of age and take either 1st or 2nd place in their weight class will receive a chance to compete in the 2012 ATU National Tournament. Other competitors who compete will need to achieve 1st place in order to compete in the 2012 ATU National Tournament held in Atlanta, Georgia. This event will be held on June 16th, 2012.
We will ensure that a safe, efficient, and organized tournament-like festival is provided for Taekwondo Practitioners of all ages and rank levels. Professionally managed and organized, our registration process will be easy and convenient as well. I look forward to welcoming you to the Golden State Open Taekwondo Championship this year.
